Ruidoso Downs Race Track and Casino is the home of the All American
Futurity, the world’s richest quarter horse race with a purse of
over 2 million dollars. The best quarter horses in the world and
finest thoroughbreds in the Southwest race here throughout the
summer months. This is horse racing in New Mexico at its very best!
The race season opens at the end of May and runs through Labor Day
weekend. Live racing takes place every Thursday through Sunday,
except over holiday weekends when the horses run on Friday through
Monday. Ruidoso Downs Racetrack is located on the East side of
Ruidoso across Hwy. 70 from WalMart. It is a beautiful location to
enjoy a day of racing action. Go right down to the rail in the
grandstand and feel the vibrations as horse hoofs thunder by – very
exciting. Best yet, parking and general admission are free! Aside
from live summer racing Billy’s Racebook features simulcast racing
everyday with the largest screen TV in Lincoln County.
