Description for Bear Bones
Bear Bones cabin is set off among trees in beautiful Ruidoso, New Mexico. You’ll feel like you’re far from civilization when you’re inside its cozy walls, but the reality is you can walk from Bear Bones to a grocery store, restaurants, galleries and a coffee shop with ease. Hop in your car and you can enjoy the entertainment options of Ruidoso in a matter of minutes. So what are you waiting for?

With its two bedrooms, four people can enjoy a wonderful cabin vacation in Bear Bones. The cabin, like all the structures within Apache Village, was built in the late 1940s by as talented carpenter. His pride in workmanship is evident in each wall, log and beam within Bear Bones. Over the years modern conveniences have been added, but the rustic charm that was present from the beginning still shines through.

When you walk through the cabin’s front door, you’ll enter a living room that’s outfitted with a comfortable couch, recliner and large flat-screen TV with cable. The walls are the original gleaming knotty pine and the ceiling features exposed beams that add to the cabin’s rustic ambiance.

Just a few steps from the main living room area is the dining table with four chairs. The kitchen is just through the doorway so it’s easy to get food on and off the table. Of course, with all the excellent restaurants you’ll find in Ruidoso, you may want to forgo cooking altogether. If you do decide to cook at the cabin, you have a full kitchen at your command. Just make a trip down to the nearby supermarket and you’ll be all set to whip up your group’s favorite recipes.

The first of two Bear Bones bedrooms is on the ground floor. It contains a double bed and a plethora of windows to let in the pine-scented air. Your guests will sleep wonderfully every night they get to enjoy the serenity of this room.

The Bear Bones bathroom is also on the first floor. There you will find a walk-in shower and plenty of towels and washcloths to use during your stay. So no need to waste precious packing space on bathroom linens!

The master bedroom is on the second floor and is outfitted with a queen-size bed. You’ll sleep well in this cozy retreat, but if you need a little time to unwind before you head for bed, you have a private reading nook where you can knock off a couple chapters in your book. There’s also a handy desk in case you want to write some postcards before bed.

You’ll never want for something fun to do while staying at Bear Bones. You can hike in the mountains, ride horses, fish in lakes stocked with trout, play golf, ride the zip-line and even see a horse race while you’re in Ruidoso.

Bear Bones is part of the Bear Mountain Lodge group of larger cabins within the Apache Village.
