Description for Burro Garden
Your time in Santa Fe is too valuable to stay in a generic rental. Come home to Burro Garden just 4 blocks from the Plaza and enjoy original art, top-line appliances, cozy hearths, and lovely gardens!
Decorated with a flair for the Southwestern and a gifted eye for color, Burro Garden is like staying in the home of an old school friend -- the talented one, who went to art college! The great room is an inviting space with open beams, a wood floor, brightly colored walls, and a generous collection of ultra-comfortable chairs and couches. Deep armchairs with footstools invite you to sink in with a drink and a book; sofas layered in throw pillows almost demand that you slip off your shoes and go horizontal for a while. Light a fire, break out the cards or the tall tales or switch on the big flat-screen TV. You are home now, surrounded by original paintings and crafts, and bathed in sunlight from the double sets of glass-paned doors leading out to the patio and garden.
Just off the living room is the dining area, a light-filled space with a simple wooden table and padded chairs for 6. You will be grateful for the comfort of these chairs as you linger long after dessert, talking and laughing beneath the handsome Spanish-style chandelier. Or perhaps you'll sweep away the dishes and break out the board games for a night of old-fashioned family entertainment.
Beyond the dining area is the kitchen, thoroughly updated with a Viking range, all the latest appliances and equipment, and handsome wooden cabinetry. This is a chef's delight, and the cook in your group will be hard pressed to choose whether to prepare meals indoors in this fine kitchen or take it all to the gas grill on the side patio! Ah, the tough choices of vacation life!
When the evening comes to end, there is plenty of room for everyone to get a good night's rest at Burro Garden. Two bedrooms each sleep two people, and that's not counting the pet you are welcome to bring along!
The primary suite is the crowning glory of Burro Garden. Fitted with a queen-sized bed featuring an ironwork sunburst headboard, it boasts a hand-painted wooden chest, stuffed leather reading chair, full working fireplace with mantel, ceiling fan, open beamed ceiling, walk-in closet, flat- screen TV, and glass doors leading out to one of several patios. Simply a jewel box of a room, it is certain to inspire sweet dreams!
The bath attached to the primary bedroom is intricately tiled and features a shower and tub combo. Another full bath serves the guest bedroom, which includes a split king (a bed that can be used either as a king or two twins), patio access, and the same beautiful open-beam design.
Even the laundry room holds a pleasant surprise in this spotless family home. The washer and dryer are premium Fisher Tykel models, prepared to tackle your hardworking vacation togs. A door leads outside from this room as well -- nearly every room at Burro Garden includes an exterior door, so you can throw them all open in spring and fall and enjoy the gentle sunshine and fresh breezes.
Burro Garden is surrounded by patio and garden space. A large brick-floor patio offers an elegant place to dine and daydream, bordered by plants. A side patio accommodates the gas grill and offers a chaise longue for sunbathing and snoozing. Ironwork furniture with soft cushions and large, whimsical statuary abounds, including (of course) a life-size burro standing in the garden!
And while Burro Garden is a self-contained little paradise flanked by adobe-colored walls and established garden plantings, it is located in the historic downtown area of Santa Fe. The galleries, boutiques, restaurants, and artisan markets of Canyon Road and Palace Street are within easy walking distance, with the richness of the Plaza mere minutes from the door. Give the car a vacation too, and enjoy strolling through Santa Fe's beautiful streets! At Burro Garden, you are in the heart of the action, yet have all the peace and quiet of a mountain retreat. Come stay here very soon!

Reviews for Burro Garden
Very nice!
Absolutely staying in the Burro!!!! Very nice, comfortable, great art!!!
Wonderful Fall Birthday Getaway
We really enjoyed our stay in the Burro Garden House. It was a special girl's weekend getaway and we found the house to be very comfortable. The house is filled with beautiful Southwestern art and we kept discovering something new everyday. The outside patios are beautiful and were perfectly manicured and private. We loved the fun sculptures outside too. We had margaritas on the patio and used the well appointed kitchen for a couple of meals. It is about 3 blocks from the plaza and in a really nice neighborhood. I would definitely recommend this property.
Lots of 'perfects'!
Great house, well furnished, lovely location, lots of garden. Just perfect!
Great place to stay in Santa Fe!
We really enjoyed our stay at Burro Garden. Plenty of room and nicely appointed. We were so impressed by its proximity to the Plaza and also Canyon road. We easily walked to both! We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Santa Fe!
