Description for Casa Eldorado
If it’s peace and privacy you want, Casa Eldorado is for you. The 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home sits on over an acre, in the beautiful Eldorado Neighborhood, surrounded by shrub-dotted desert with a 360-degree view of majestic mountains. At the same time, the house is approximately 20 minutes from downtown Santa Fe, among a myriad of other attractions.

Casa Eldorado is an exemplar of contemporary Santa Fe elegance. Large windows enable you to marvel at the magnificent mountain vistas and the seemingly endless skies from just about anywhere in the home. When you relax in the living room, you’ll almost feel as if you are outdoors, thanks to its picture windows and the skylights in its lofty viga-beamed ceiling. The furnishings, however, are beautifully modern and wonderfully comfortable. When you’re not stretched out on the sofa watching a movie on the HDTV with cable, kick back in an armchair and surf the web via the free WiFi or sprawl out on the rug and play with the kids. On chilly evenings everyone can gather around the large woodburning fireplace and play Pictionary or plan the next day’s adventures.

The dining table seats 6, and there’s room for several more at the adjacent breakfast bar. Another option is to dine on Casa Eldorado’s spacious backyard patio; there’s a chiminea (outdoor fireplace) so that you can relish the singing of the nightjars and the star-studded sky even when the temperatures dip.

You can cook outdoors on the patio’s grill, as well as indoors in Casa Eldorado’s fully equipped kitchen. Even if you eat most of your meals at the numerous nearby restaurants, you’re sure to appreciate the convenience of having a coffeemaker for brewing your first cup of the day, a stovetop and a microwave for making movie-night popcorn, and a blender for mixing smoothies in the morning and margaritas at night.

Casa Eldorado’s master suite all but ensures sweet dreams. Windows on either side of the queen-size bed allow to wake up in full view of the landscape, and the gentle breeze of the ceiling fan will help lull you to sleep. Along with twin sinks and walk-in shower, the en-suite bathroom includes a jetted tub, so you can soak among the massaging waters after a day of hiking, biking, or skiing.

The 2nd bedroom features a queen-size bed, and the 3rd bedroom has a sofa that opens into another queen bed. When you’re not using this room as a bedroom, it serves as a quiet library where you can read (the shelves offer some options, in case you forgot to bring a book of your own), catch up on email at the desk, or treat yourself to a nap. Each room has an individually controlled air conditioning unit and ceiling fan to keep you cool in the New Mexico heat.

Relax under the pergola on the front patio while enjoying the relaxing sounds of the adjacent small fountain.

As you revel in the serenity of Casa Eldorado, you might easily forget that there’s plenty to see and do nearby. Within a half-hour you can drive to Atalaya Mountain, the site of popular hiking and mountain biking trails within Santa Fe National Forest, and Pecos National Historic Park, where you can explore the abandoned Pecos Pueblo, a mission church, and a Civil War battlefield, go fly-fishing, hike, and perhaps see elk, deer, and short-horned lizards. Equally close is the Canyon Road art district, the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, and Santa Fe Plaza, whose attractions include the Palace of the Governors (the country’s oldest public building), the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, and the Loretto Chapel. Dozens of well-maintained hiking trails in National Forests are also within a one to two-hour radius of Casa Eldorado.

The Eldorado neighborhood offers a community swimming pool, playground, tennis courts, gym, summer weekly farmers market, and full-size supermarket. For those of you who enjoy walking in beautiful scenery, there is a 4,000-acre private nature reserve with hiking trails. Casa Eldorado is close to several greenbelts with walking paths.

When you stay at Casa Eldorado, you can do it all—or simply relish the natural splendor and serenity of the private setting with your nearest and dearest. See for yourself; book your stay today.
