Description for Clearwater Cabin
Located just yards from the Ruidoso River, Clearwater Cabin was built of logs felled from Lincoln Forest and milled in a neighboring town. The wood-planked walls, floors, and beamed ceiling, along with the 2 covered decks that span the cabin’s width, lend an old-timey ambiance. But the cabin also boasts thoroughly modern amenities, including a hot tub, free WiFi, cable TV, central air-conditioning, and a washer and a dryer.

The great room makes up most of Clearwater Cabin’s main floor. A sumptuous leather sofa and plush armchairs invite you to take it easy after a day on the go. On brisk winter evenings, the stone-surround fireplace adds to the room’s allure. Whether you’re watching a movie on the flat-screen TV, curled up with a book, or playing a game with the kids, you’ll feel right at home.

The dining area is also part of the great room. The handsome trestle table seats 6 people, and 3 more can belly up to the adjacent breakfast bar. Separating the dining area from the kitchen, the breakfast bar also serves as additional counter space, though the kitchen already has a wealth of counters without it. If you hadn’t planned on cooking much, if at all, during your stay, Clearwater Cabin’s kitchen might change your mind. With its sparkling stainless-steel appliances, gleaming counters, and wealth of gadgets, cookware, tableware, storage, and elbow room, the kitchen makes cooking a pleasure, not a chore. The cabin has a gas grill outside as well. Whether it’s trout you reeled in yourself or steaks from the nearby supermarket, they’ll taste extra special when grilled alfresco.

The primary ster suite is also located on the main floor. Furnished in refined rustic elegance, the room includes a king-size bed you might be tempted to sprawl out on the moment you arrive. The private primary bathroom adheres to the same “something old, something new” theme as the rest of Clearwater Cabin: In addition to a claw-foot tub, it includes a beautifully tiled step-in shower, dual sinks set in a handsome countertop, and plenty of storage.

Upstairs is the game room, with a pool table and a flat-screen TV. Two more bedrooms are up here as well. Each includes a queen-size bed, a ceiling fan hanging from the pitched ceiling, and windows that provide a bird’s-eye view of the surrounding trees. These bedrooms share the 2nd bathroom. Any additional guests can sleep in the game room or the great room, each of which includes a sofa bed for 2 so that Clearwater Cabin can accommodate as many as 10 people.

The 2 covered decks allow you to make the most of the parklike setting. Each is furnished with multiple chairs and tables. The lower deck includes a porch swing, while the upper deck goes one better with a swinging deck bed. Yes, you could really sleep out here on it, with the owls in the woods singing you a lullaby. Perhaps the ultimate spot for savoring the mountain breeze and the sun-dappled trees, however, is Clearwater Cabin’s hot tub. Especially after a day of hiking, mountain biking, or horseback riding, a soak among the massaging jets of water will feel so pampering.

The Ruidoso River is just a few yards from Clearwater Cabin; you’ll hear the burbling of the water over the rocks whenever you step outside. The cabin is also within a 10-minute drive of Grindstone Lake and Trail System, the Hubbard Museum of the American West, and the shops, galleries, and restaurants of downtown Ruidoso. (Because Ruidoso is a mountain town with snow and ice in winter, vehicles with 4-wheel drive or chains are strongly recommended.)

When you stay at Clearwater Cabin you get the serenity of traditional rustic living with the conveniences and luxuries of a modern upscale lifestyle. Don’t miss out; book your stay today.
