El Otro Mundo
Make your next Santa Fe visit unforgettably relaxing by staying at El Otro Mundo in Las Campanas. This 2-house property offers gorgeous architecture, luxe furnishings, and jaw-dropping mountain views.
Spread over 2 acres in the foothills between the Jemez mountains to the west and the Sangre de Cristo range to the east, El Otro Mundo commands views of more than 50 miles in all directions! This 5,000-square-foot compound is like a top-shelf resort . . . except it's all yours! And although it seems wonderfully remote, it's just a 15-minute drive to downtown Santa Fe.
Step into the huge living area of the main house and you may get a retro southwestern lodge vibe, combined with sleek contemporary outdoor styling. Weathered wood, local stone, curves and skylights and more windows than you would believe possible -- this is the stuff of dreams! Light a fire in the big central fireplace, kick off your shoes, and get comfortable in your new Santa Fe casa!
There's plenty of room for everyone to sit in the plush couches and chairs here, with sunlight pouring in from skylights above the curved staircase as well as windows everywhere. Of course, some of your party may want to retire immediately to the game room, a luxurious space with perfectly sized tables for cards, board games, and puzzles -- not to mention million-dollar views in two directions! And if anyone has to get a little work done, let them discover the handsome office, private and quiet.
Every large group needs a pretty constant supply of drinks and snacks, no matter how many of northern New Mexico's world-class restaurants they visit -- so you will get a lot of use out of the huge kitchen in the main house (even if you have solemnly vowed not to lift a whisk during your entire vacation!). Enjoy the indoor Hibachi grill, commercial-grade dual ranges and refrigerators, workstation island with extra sink, and charming little clamshell breakfast nook in this vast, bright kitchen! The kids will love having their own space to eat the pancakes you have promised them, and the adults will enjoy frothy, frosty beverages whipped up in seconds in the blender. Open the cupboards and you will find an enviable selection of chef's tools as well as all the cookware and serving pieces you need to prepare a feast!
And where will you dine? In the beautiful dining room (with long table, sideboard, and smaller table) overlooking one of the patios, soaked in natural light and boasting breathtaking views? Or perhaps on the patio, where the cool mountain breezes refresh you in summer and the big fireplaces warm you in winter! There's a big grill out here too, in case you want to cook in the fresh New Mexico air.
When it's time for bed, you may mourn the passing of a vacation day, but you will perk up when you see your sleeping quarters! The main house has 3 bedrooms, all furnished for comfort and serenity. The master is palatial, with a king-sized bed, matching reading chairs, fabulous views, and an en-suite bath that includes a Jacuzzi tub, walk-in shower, and dual vanities. But the second bedroom is hardly second-best, sporting a queen bed, table and chairs, vanity, wardrobe, and access to the second full bath. A third bedroom offers two doubles, perfect for the kids or for grandparents, friends, or even a second couple traveling with you.
All of this -- and then there's a guest house as well, sleeping up to 6 more people in 2 bedrooms! The guest house is charming and no less beautifully decorated than the main casa, with a tiled living and dining area separated by a central see-through fireplace. The kitchen is smaller but no less well-equipped here, with plenty of seating at the big dining table and sunshine pouring through sliders leading out to one of the patios.
The guest room bedrooms are light yet cozy, one featuring a queen-sized bed and the other boasting 2 sets of bunkbeds. A full bath with walk-in shower and colorful countertops brightens everyone up first thing in the morning, and plentiful windows throughout the guest house make it a lovely place to stay.
As if these weren't enough, El Otro Mundo includes an outdoor Jacuzzi set a few yards down the canyon from the house, where the sunset can be appreciated in style and sore ski muscles can be massaged in the bubbly waters. There are so many outdoor spaces to explore here, each one uniquely decorated with sculpture, inlaid tabletops, chaise lounges, and more!
You will love discovering all the beauties of El Otro Mundo while your big group vacations in style and comfort. The location is perfect, the appointments second to none, and the entire compound a uniquely satisfying place to stay! Book today, and we predict you'll rebook before your vacation even ends!
