The breathtaking beauty of the Sierra Blanca Mountains meets the alluring charm of the Southwest in Kirkman House, an elegant mountain home close to the shops, restaurants, and entertainment of Ruidoso, New Mexico.
When you drive up to Kirkman House you’ll see a pleasant looking mountain home, but what’s inside will dazzle you. When you enter you’ll be overwhelmed by the home’s exceptional design and décor. Your main living area is awash in beautiful mountain views streaming in through the many large windows. You’ll fall in love with the comfortable leather furniture and the tasteful touches of Southwestern décor all arranged around the huge fireplace. You have a large TV in case you want to keep up with your favorite shows. Just off your living room is a partially covered deck where you can enjoy a meal or your morning coffee as you watch the forest come to life. Everything seems to taste its best in the mountain air.
Be prepared for big appetites when you stay at Kirkman House. The mountain air does that to everyone. Fortunately, you have a galley kitchen that is equipped with everything you need to prepare and serve hearty meals to your friends and family. Just pick up ingredients at one of the local Ruidoso markets and you’ll be all set. You have a gas grill on the deck in case you want to prepare some steaks or burgers for your group.
If you’re not dining out on the deck, gather your group around the elegant dining table. With the beautiful rustic table and chairs and the lovely Southwestern chandelier, any meal will feel like a special occasion.
Of course, you can always go into Ruidoso and dine on the local cuisine. You’ll find entertainment and good eats in this charming mountain town.
You will fill your days hiking trails in Lincoln National Forest where you’ll find waterfalls, amazing animals, and breathtaking vistas of the Sierra Blanca Mountains. There’s also golf, great fishing, and just a short drive away the Ski Apache Resort for winter sports fun. Please note: if you come to Kirkman House in winter be sure to arrive in a four-wheel-drive vehicle or, at a minimum, have chains. Ruidoso is a mountain town and winter roads are often snow-packed and icy.
After a day of mountain play, you’ll be ready for a good night’s rest. Guests tell us they sleep better in the mountains than anywhere else. Slip into your master bedroom where you’ll find a queen-sized bed, sliding glass door access to the deck, and comfortable furniture. Before you fall asleep, take a moment to go out on the deck and watch the stars come out in the clear night sky. It’s a light show beyond anything you’ll ever see in the city.
Your master bathroom will be a welcome delight when the first rays of sunlight enter your bedroom. This cheery room features a beautiful stained glass window, shower/tub combination, and large vanity. What a pleasure it is to get ready for a new day in this beautifully appointed bathroom.
Guests will also be pleased with their accommodations. The second guest bedroom includes a queen-sized bed, handsome décor, and lovely forest views out large windows. The third guest bedroom is equipped with a full sized bed and dressed with classic southwestern decor that will perk up anyone's day.
The second Kirkman House bathroom includes a walk-in shower and vanity with mirror for guests’ use.
From the moment you arrive until the day you have to bid the mountains farewell, you will have an ideal getaway when you stay at Kirkman House. Book your preferred dates in this beautiful mountain home today!
