Description for Pinecone Cabin The location of Pinecone Cabin is perfect: only a few minutes from the restaurants, shops, and galleries of downtown Ruidoso yet nestled among the woods so that you’ll feel far removed from the everyday. From its spacious covered decks, you can see the Sacramento Mountains through the ponderosa and pinyon pines. From the front porch, which is furnished with a pair of blissfully comfortable armchairs, you can view the Sierra Blanca. As you dine alfresco, hummingbirds will provide the perfect background music; while luxuriating in the lower deck’s hot tub you might spy wild turkeys and deer sauntering by. The only drawback to staying in this recently updated home is that you might never want to leave!

Pinecone Cabin’s living room looks exactly as you’d want the interior of a cabin in the woods to appear. Plush microsuede couches topped with plenty of pillows sit by the stone-surround fireplace so that everyone can bask in its warmth on snowy winter evenings. The room has a forty-two inch flat-screen TV with cable channels too, plus there’s free WiFi throughout. After a day of hitting the slopes or the hiking trails, you’ll love kicking back here in all its charming comfort.

Behind the living room is the eat-in kitchen. Appliances, cookware, tableware, counter space, storage: Pinecone Cabin’s kitchen has it all. Even if you eat your main meals at the many nearby restaurants, you’re sure to appreciate having a blender to whip up daiquiris on balmy summer nights and a coffeemaker for that all-important wake-me-up cup. The kitchen table seats four, and the chairs are so comfortable you’ll find yourself lingering, gazing through the window at the mountains, long after your meal is over.

Then again, during the warm-weather months, you’ll probably want to enjoy at least some of your meals out on Pinecone Cabin’s deck. There’s another table for four here, and the fresh mountain air will stimulate even the most persnickety appetites. For a true New Mexico feast, cook up on the deck’s grill some trout you reeled in yourself from a nearby lake and organic vegetables from the farmers’ market. Mmmm…

The woodsy, back-to-nature theme continues in the bedroom, thanks in large part to the handcrafted ponderosa pine headboard that reaches up to the ceiling. As you stretch out on the king-size bed you can watch a movie on the flat-panel TV, catch up on your reading, surf the web, or drift to sleep beneath the gentle breeze of the ceiling fan. (Don’t worry: Pinecone Cabin also has central air-conditioning.) Additional guests can sleep in the living room; one of the sofas opens into a queen-size bed, enabling the cabin to sleep four people in all.

Pinecone Cabin is just a five-minute drive to Alto Lake and Recreation Area. The lake is stocked with trout; when you’re not fishing you can explore the surrounding trails on foot, mountain bike, or horseback. The Links at Sierra Blanca golf course is just as close; only two minutes further is Ruidoso Winter Park, where you can snow tube in winter and soar on a zip line year-round. Less than fifteen minutes from the cabin is Grindstone Lake and Trail System, where you can fish, boat, hike, ride mountain bikes and horses, and play disc golf. The Hubbard Museum of the American West, Ruidoso Downs, and the Billy the Kid and Inn of the Mountain Gods casinos are all less than twenty minutes away. You can even get to Ski Apache in only thirty-five minutes. Didn’t we tell you that Pinecone Cabin’s location was ideal?

If you’re visiting in winter, you’ll want your vehicle to have four-wheel drive or tire chains because of the snow and the hills—but we’re sure you already knew that. No matter what time of year, you’re sure to fall in love with Pinecone Cabin and its surroundings. See for yourself; book your stay today!

Guest Rating for Pinecone Cabin
Perfect for our long weekend getaway!
Pinecone cabin was perfect for our long weekend getaway. It was perfect size for me and my wife and very comfortable. The cabin was well appointed and the bed was comfortable. Most important the price was right and much more pleasant than a motel room.
Made you feel at home.
Very homey and comfortable. Loved the deck area the most minus a few pesky bees. Loved the labels on switches. Very nicely decorated. Got to see turkeys, deer, lots of variety of birds but the hummingbirds were my favorite. Bed was comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked. Everything was tastefully done. Look forward to coming back again. Vicki Lawler
Great Have used Condotel for the last 10 to 15 years. Have stayed in Alpine village most of the time.

We absolutely loved our stay here! It felt just like home! We just would have liked a few more towels in the house. The weather was wonderful, the neighbors were friendly, and the views were phenomenal!! We would love to go back soon! Thank you Condotel!!
