From the moment you enter the living room and see the southwestern colors, cozy kiva fireplace, and fine viga ceiling, you know you are in for something very special indeed at Vista de Colores. The mountains are just beyond the big windows and sliding-glass doors, fronted with the beauty of the ski basin and foothills. You have arrived in paradise, with nothing to do but enjoy it all!
Step down into the living room and sink into one of the ultra-comfortable leather couches. One of these opens up into a queen-size sleeper, allowing several lucky members of your group to have ringside seats for the most beautiful sunrises in the world. There is room for everyone here, and each seat is spacious and so relaxing. Cancel your plans for the evening, whip up some drinks and appetizers, and spend the night in!
The deck beckons to you from the front room, and you probably won't be able to resist for long. This wide wooden balcony overlooks a sweeping vista of natural beauty, breathtaking in any season. Crisp mountain air enhances the effect of being on top of the world! Find a seat at the patio table or one of the rockers, pour yourself a glass of wine, and admire the sheer majesty of this little corner of the world. There are views in many directions, and the open sky seems vast, yet the city of Santa Fe is just minutes away! It is the best of both worlds -- a feeling of remoteness, plus proximity to all the delights of civilization!
When it's time to go indoors again, step up into the spacious dining area at Vista de Colores. The table here seats six and offers nice views as well as a separate living space from the main room. It's a lovely place to dine, but also a good all-purpose room for your valuable vacation downtime: playing board games, using laptops and tablets, or working an enormous jigsaw puzzle!
Of course, you don't have to be a chef to stay at Vista de Colores . . . but the kitchen here might make you feel like one! Even if you are determined not to cook one single thing while on vacation, the spotless stainless-steel appliances and state-of-the-art gourmet gadgetry found in these cupboards might tempt you to pick up a whisk. All of the cookware and serving dishes you could ask for are stacked and waiting for you. Thanksgiving in Santa Fe, anyone?! The magnificent Farmer's Market in town will turn any ordinary meal into a regional feast.
You may be enjoying the living and dining spaces so much at this condo that you stay up far later than you intended, but that's alright because once you stretch out on these luxurious beds, you're going to sleep late in the morning, too! There are two bedrooms at Vista de Colores (not to mention the sleeper sofa in the living room), and both will assure you of a great night's sleep in calm and quiet.
The primary suite offers a luxe king-size bed in a cool-toned room with staggering mountain views and plenty of storage space in the walk-in closet. The bath is first-rate as well, with a tiled shower/tub combination. As much as you may want to explore the city or race down the ski slopes, it's tempting to linger long after sunrise in this suite!
The second bedroom is ideal for children, grandparents, or another couple. Two twin-size beds await tired travelers in a soothing, quiet atmosphere. Many restful nights await you in here, be sure to make the room quite dark for afternoon nappers. And a second full bath is convenient to this room. Close the door and get a great night's rest every single day of your vacation here!
In addition to the big back deck overlooking the mountains, Vista de Colores has a courtyard at the front of the condo. This area is just right for slipping out first thing in the morning to savor the sunrise with a mug of coffee . . . or counting the stars before going up to bed. Private and peaceful, it's yet another lovely space to savor all the moments of your Santa Fe vacation.
And Vista de Colores has all the "mod cons" you need for your vacation. You will find WiFi, cable TV, a DVD player, and CD player waiting for you here. All towels and linens are provided, as well as a washer and dryer. Pack light -- it's easy to stay here.
And despite all of its breathtaking wilderness views, Vista de Colores is just a 10-minute walk from the galleries and shops of Canyon Road, and not much farther from all the sights of the Plaza and the Guadalupe Railyard District. So whether you have come to ski, hike, attend the opera, or simply "do" Santa Fe in all its historic and artistic beauty, you'll find the perfect home-away-from- home to return to each evening when you book Vista de Colores. Please be our guest next time your travels bring you to northern New Mexico!
