Description for Worth the Wait
The living couldn’t be easier at Worth the Wait, a single-level home close to everything Ruidoso has to offer. You have a welcoming living and dining area where everyone can have fun together, 3 comfortable bedrooms that encourage you to turn in early and sleep late, and a large covered deck. You will love to feel and revel in the fresh mountain breezes. When you stay here, you’re certain to make magical memories that will last a lifetime.

From the outside Worth the Wait resembles a true mountain cabin, and the interior is just as charming. The living area’s 2 couches and leather-cushioned rocker allow the whole gang to kick back and hang out. When you return from skiing or snow tubing in winter, you’ll want to gather around the fireplace, hot cocoa or Irish coffee in hand. And after a day of hiking or biking in warmer weather, you’ll find there’s plenty of space to sprawl out and watch a movie on the flat-screen TV.

In fact, during summer you might spend much of your time on Worth the Wait’s covered rear deck. Spanning the entire width of the home, it’s furnished with chairs and a dining table. Start your morning sipping coffee outside while hummingbirds sing; end your evening gazing up at the stars as owls hoot in the woods. You can cook on the deck as well, courtesy of the gas grill. If you reel in any trout from one of the nearby lakes, grill it and eat it right here—the crisp mountain air makes everything takes better.

Of course, Worth the Wait has an indoor dining area too, with a table that seats 6. And though there are numerous restaurants and takeout places nearby, sometimes it’s easier (and more budget-friendly) to cook for yourself. Worth the Wait’s kitchen is equipped with a full array of appliances—refrigerator/freezer, oven/stove, microwave, blender, dishwasher, you name it—plus plenty of cookware and tableware. The open layout means you can watch TV or chat with the others while working your culinary magic.

Each of the 3 bedrooms, decorated in the same homey style as the rest of Worth the Wait, includes a queen-size bed. The master suite also has a sitting area where you can surf the web via the free high-speed WiFi, escape into a good book, or watch TV. It has its own private bathroom too, with a combination shower and tub. The other 2 bedrooms share the 2nd bathroom, which also features a combo shower and tub. When you arrive at Worth the Wait, you’ll find plenty of clean towels for both bathrooms, as well as the beds already made up for your convenience. And speaking of convenience, the house has its own washer and dryer, so you can pack light and leave lots of room in your suitcase for any artworks, jewelry, or handicrafts you pick up at the boutiques and galleries of Sudderth Drive, just a 5-minute ride away.

Only a mile from Worth the Wait is Grindstone Lake and Trail System. You can canoe, kayak, paddleboard, and fish on the lake, bike and hike the surrounding trails, and even play disc golf here. Also within walking distance is Grindstone Stables; come here for a guided horseback ride or, in winter, a sleigh ride. If golf is your sport, you’ll be glad to know that the Links at Sierra Blanca is less than 10 minutes away; Ruidoso Winter Park, where you can snow tube in winter and ride the zip line year-round, is only a 15-minute drive. And Ski Apache, home to ski slopes, mountain-bike trails, and the world’s 3rd longest zip line, is just 45 minutes away. (If you’re visiting in winter, a vehicle with 4-wheel drive or tire chains is recommended.) As for less strenuous pastimes, casinos, Ruidoso Downs, and the Hubbard Museum of the American West are all within a 15-minute drive.

While Worth the Wait may indeed be worth waiting for, you don’t have to. Simply book your stay today, and get ready for a memorable Ruidoso getaway.
