Where you'll be
If you come to Schaffer Scherenity in winter, we encourage you to arrive in a four-wheel-drive vehicle or at least have chains for your car. Winter often creates snowy and ice-packed road conditions and despite the best efforts to clear the snow, it’s best to come prepared.
You’ll fall in love with Schaffer Scherenity the moment you drive on the property. Perhaps the highlight of your stay will be spending time out on your large deck that’s situated among the pines. It’s incredible to breathe in the pine-scented air as you enjoy your morning coffee. You may even see some wild turkey or deer wandering by just off your deck. Your deck is also where you’ll find the hot tub. After a day of skiing, hiking, or golfing, it feels pretty great to soak weary muscles in the soothing warm waters.
Your Schaffer Scherenity living room features a cozy loveseat for two, a bistro table, and a flat-screen TV with cable. This pleasant room is perfect for watching a little TV, but you’ll probably spend most of your time in the back section of the house where you’ll find a great room outfitted with a beautiful stone fireplace, dining table, and breakfast bar. Gleaming wood floors and a colorful area rug add to the inviting ambiance. You’ll pass through a door in this great room to reach the huge deck and backyard. Schaffer Scherenity also has free Wi-Fi so you can stay in touch with friends back home right from your cabin.
Just off the great room is your fully equipped kitchen. Plan for hearty appetites when you come to Schaffer Scherenity because mountain air tends to make everyone ravenously hungry. You’ll find what you need to prepare and serve your group in this well-appointed kitchen. Just make a quick trip to a Ruidoso grocery and you’ll be ready to cook.
Whether you’ve spent your day golfing, hiking, skiing, or fishing, when night comes you’ll be ready to slip into your queen-sized bed and enjoy one of the best rests of your life. Whether it’s the mountain air, the solitude of the forest, the altitude, or all three, you’ll rest well when you stay at Schaffer Scherenity.
In the morning each of you has your own bathroom with shower/tub combination and a vanity with a large mirror. Before you know it you’ll be out on the deck enjoying the crisp air along with your breakfast and a hot cup of coffee.
To make things as easy as possible for you and your guest, you’ll find a washer and dryer ready and waiting. No matter how dirty you get during the day playing in the snow or hiking, you can always have your favorite shirt ready to go the next day, thanks to the in-home laundry facilities.
Please remember that Ruidoso is a mountain town with snow and icy conditions during the winter. This can affect driving and parking conditions regardless of the property, driveway, or roads. 4x4 or chains may be required during winter months to access your home.
Plan your next mountain getaway to include a stay at Schaffer Scherenity. It’s the perfect romantic getaway for two high in the New Mexico Mountains. Maximum Vehicles 1

It was just like home away from home with all the comforts. It was very clean and comfortable and the yard was perfect for my two little dogs. The deck was amazing and I got so much writing done. The neighbors were quiet too. I never want to stay in a hotel again and for the price I paid on this rental will be back again soon. It was nice having the carport on the day\'s it rained to pull up under and the fireplace was nice to have also. The house was very clean when I arrived and was easy to access. The office where I picked up my key had typed directions to the location in case my GPS lost service. The staff in the office was very friendly and helpful and knew the area well and was able to offer some good places to go and see. It was also easy to check out the morning I left. The only complaint I would have is they were supposed to have someone come and fix the kitchen sink that wasn\'t draining and the repairman never showed up.

We picked this cabin because we wanted to bring our dog with us for a nature experience. She loved the fenced-in yard that she could access thru the doggy door. She didnâ„¢t know what to think when a small herd of deer passed by the fence. We loved watching the deer! We had plenty of room and even cooked a meal one evening. The cabin isnâ„¢t far from shopping and restaurants. (Some shops & restaurants are even dog-friendly). We also went and did some hikes nearby. It was a great weekend!
