Casita Rios celebrates everything that makes Ruidoso so special. Built in classic Southwestern style, the two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath home boasts wood-beamed ceilings, arched doorways, and a wealth of richly colored tilework. From the balcony, you can watch bald eagles soar above the Sierra Blanca; in the spacious courtyard you can sip margaritas as hummingbirds sing amid the pine-fragranced breezes. And lakes, hiking and biking trails, golf courses, casinos, and woodlands are just beyond your front door.

The home’s great room is truly deserving of the term. The luxe leather sofa and roomy armchairs enable the whole gang to gather together. Whether you’re watching a movie on the large flat-screen TV with cable or enjoying après-ski drinks in the golden glow of the wood-burning fireplace, you and your family or friends can savor one another’s company in a stunning yet blissfully relaxed setting. The view of the lushly wooded hills through the numerous picture windows only adds to the away-from-it-all ambience.

Just beyond Casita Rios’s living area is the handsome wood dining table, which seats six. The adjacent kitchen island can accommodate three more people. It’s a handy spot for guests to perch as they help prepare a meal. Like the rest of the great room, the kitchen is open and spacious. Equipped with shining stainless-steel appliances, ample counter space, and plenty of cookware and tableware, the kitchen is certain to encourage your culinary creativity.

Both bedrooms all but guarantee a fabulous night’s sleep. Each includes a lofty king-size bed beneath a ceiling fan whose gentle breeze serves as the perfect lullaby. Each bedroom also has access to an outdoor area. From the primary suite you can step out onto the balcony while the second bedroom opens onto the courtyard.

Two more people can sleep in the study, which includes a leather couch that opens into a full-size bed. Hopefully you won’t have to work while you’re here, but if you do, feel free to use the study’s desk, and of course Casita Rios has complimentary WiFi as well. Have additional guests? The house offers a pair of twin-size rollaway beds, enabling it to sleep as many as eight people.

Casita Rios has a full bathroom for each bedroom, outfitted to the same high standard as the rest of the home. There’s also a convenient half-bath and, speaking of convenience, the house includes a washer and a dryer. So, you can run a load of laundry while catching up with your reading on the covered balcony.

An equally serene space for relaxing al fresco is Casita Rios’s courtyard. You’ll find plenty of shade here as well as wide-open areas to bask in the sunshine. One area of the courtyard is furnished with a dining table and chairs, along with a grill. If you reel in any trout from nearby Alto or Grindstone Lake, you can cook it out here and dine among the mountain breezes. Whip up a batch of margaritas, and you’ve got yourself a true Southwestern feast!

In addition to being only a few miles from the two lakes, Casita Rios is close to numerous other attractions. You can drive to the Links at Sierra Blanca and several other golf courses in minutes. Hiking, mountain biking, and horse trails are nearby as well. So are the galleries and boutiques of downtown Ruidoso, two casinos, and the Hubbard Museum of the American West, and in less than an hour you can hit the slopes of Ski Apache. (Because this is mountain and snow country, vehicles with four-wheel drive and/or tire chains are strongly advised in winter.)

No matter how you spend your days, you’ll love returning to the comfort, beauty, and serenity of Casita Rios afterward. Don’t miss out: Book this beautiful getaway today!

I loved this house! It is so beautiful and there is plenty of space. The french doors throughout the house are drafty though but it was not really a problem for us.
