Whether you’re in town for a ski weekend with friends, vacationing with the extended family, or hosting a destination bridal shower or bachelor party, you’ll find Alto Lakes the ideal home base. Each of its 5 bedrooms includes a king-size bed, so that as many as 10 people can relax in comfort and style. And that’s just the beginning of the delights that await you and your group.
In fact, you’ll be delighted as soon as you pull up to Alto Lakes. The home is nestled among towering ponderosa pines; as you kick back on one of the spacious decks you’ll feel as if you’re in a deluxe treehouse, with a bird’s-eye view of the woodlands and the mountains. Because the decks are furnished with numerous chairs and tables, you can spend much of your stay outdoors, relishing the sunshine, the pristine mountain breezes, the singing of hummingbirds or the hooting of owls. The house has an outdoor grill as well, so if you reel in any trout from one of the nearby lakes, you can cook as well as eat it alfresco.
After your meal—or any other time!—head to the patio for a soak in Alto Lakes’ hot tub. If the massaging jets of water don’t rejuvenate your body and soul, the view of the Sierra Blanca during the day or of the star-studded sky at night certainly will.
The interior of Alto Lakes is just as appealing. With its beamed cathedral ceiling, whitewashed fireplace, and large windows with verdant views, the main floor’s great room encourages after-dinner games of Pictionary and late-night conversations. The trio of sofas ensures that there’s room for everyone to stretch out and watch a movie on the flat-screen TV with cable.
A 2nd sitting room is downstairs. If you’re vacationing with the kids, they can watch TV down here while the adults chat upstairs, or vice versa. This den is also a handy space for surfing the web via the free WiFi or even sneaking away for a midday nap. In addition to a flat-screen TV, the den includes another comfortable couch, a roomy armchair, and a wood-burning stove.
The great room’s dining area easily seats 12 people: 8 at the table and 4 more at the adjacent breakfast bar. The breakfast bar doubles as additional kitchen counter space. Equipped with a full array of appliances, cookware, gadgets, and tableware, Alto Lakes’ kitchen can handle anything from a quick breakfast to a gourmet dinner party.
As we mentioned earlier, Alto Lakes has 5 bedrooms, each of which includes a sumptuous king-size bed along with ample storage. The primary suite opens directly onto a deck, so you and your sweetheart can slip outside for a romantic moonlit drink without waking the others. Three bedrooms, including the primary, have their own bathroom, and the remaining 2 bedrooms share the 4th bathroom. As an added convenience, Alto Lakes has its own full-size washer and dryer.
Also convenient is Alto Lakes’ location. The house is only a half-hour walk—or a 5-minute drive—to Alto Lake and Recreation Area. When you’re not fishing, you can explore the surrounding trails on foot, mountain bike, or horseback… and at the end of the Eagle Creek Trail, you’ll find a waterfall! The Links at Sierra Blanca golf course is only a 10-minute drive from the house. Also, less than a half-hour away are the Hubbard Museum of the American West, Ruidoso Downs horse track, Billy the Kid Casino, and the art galleries and artisan shops of Sudderth Drive. And in just 35 minutes you can drive to Ski Apache, the southernmost continually operating ski resort in the country.
However you spend your days, you’ll love returning to the comfort and beauty of Alto Lakes. Don’t miss out: Book your stay today! Please remember that Ruidoso is a mountain town with snow and icy conditions during the winter. This can affect driving and parking conditions regardless of the property, driveway, or roads. 4x4 or chains may be necessary to access the house during winter months. Maximum 5 vehicles.
